People often ask me why I do this work. Why do I care so deeply? Why do I keep going even when it’s uncomfortable or when I know I’m not for everyone. It’s hard to describe what I do — and I know many of you feel the same.
It doesn’t fit into a neat job title, because it’s constantly evolving.
So here’s a brief glimpse… just the tip of the iceberg.
In this article I am going to cover an overview about why I am so passionate about working with and around animals (and plants), and how that really helps me connect the dots with why things are going so wrong for so many.
The more I follow ‘world events’, see how things are changing (and honestly mostly in my opinion on a bad way, for us, the planet and all creatures great and small), the more I research into how much we have been lied to, what we have been taught is at best outdated and at worst deliberate lies to serve an agenda of a few to control the many, the more I have a strong pull, to step away from the rat race and connect back with nature.
This can sound like a luxury, but let’s be honest, if we don’t know how our food is grown, how to fend for ourselves, how to use herbs and nature to heal ourselves (I could write a book on for example the healing power of green clay, so it’s not just herbs that heal), then however much we protest we are completely at the beck and call of those in ‘power’, and I don’t know about you but I can’t think of one example of someone in ‘power’ that I want to be making decisions for me. So this is where, for me, connecting with animals and being in nature is not a luxury but a necessity. Without this, how can any of us make decisions that are in ours, or our loved ones best interest?
Separating ourselves from nature has been one of the biggest psyop (psychological operations) ever – its ‘evil genius’, and its been deliberate, long planned and very successful. We live in a time where many children in western countries (using the UK here as an example) don’t even know the names of common vegetables, that’s how disconnected we have become. We really don’t know what real food is any more, and even if we do, as we are not psychopaths we couldn’t possibly imagine that most of our food is now so poisoned, not only is it slowly killing us, but also the land…
So what do animals help me with, and what can I help them with?
So The truth is:
I do this work because I feel what the animals feel.
By seeing the world through their eyes, I feel their stress, their confusion, their unconditional love — and often, their silent suffering. And I just can’t turn away.
Many of us reading this will recognise ourselves as empaths. An empath is someone who is highly sensitive to the emotions and feelings of others. They can deeply understand and often feel the emotions of people around them as if they were their own. Empaths tend to be very intuitive, able to pick up on subtle emotional cues and often experience a deep sense of empathy or compassion.
Some key traits of an empath include:
- Emotional Sensitivity: Empaths are able to sense others’ emotions and even physical pain. They might feel overwhelmed or drained by others’ emotional states.
- Intuition: They often have a strong intuition about people’s feelings or intentions, even without verbal communication.
- Compassionate Nature: They tend to be nurturing, kind, and willing to help others in need.
Need for Alone Time: Because they absorb emotions from others, empaths often need quiet or solitude to recharge.
It’s also important to note that while being an empath can be a gift, it can sometimes lead to emotional exhaustion if we don’t manage our boundaries well.
To expand on this, I, and others like me, also feel and are sensitive to all of this with animals, and we all know animals are highly sensitive to our energy / thoughts and feelings.
When I work with an animal, it’s not just about behaviour or diet or one simple fix. It’s about tuning into what’s really going on — the layers beneath the symptoms, the energetic imbalances, the messages they’re trying to share. It’s about honesty. Presence. Listening the way animals do.
And when I work with people — whether it’s helping them support their animal, or mentoring them as a practitioner — I bring that same presence. That same heart. That same honest reflection.
So What Is the Alternative?
The truth is: most of the world is skating over the real issues. We’re drowning in politeness, distraction, and surface-level solutions… while animals, people, and the planet continue to suffer. It’s very sad to see how few people now are prepared to have honest conversations, and that we are prepared to have those difficult conversations even when it makes us unpopular. That’s the job of any guardian, of children, the planet, animals. No animal needs a weak human who can’t or wont advocate for them – often it really is the difference between life and death. Us humans don’t want that either. Difficult conversations do not have to be awkward, not if both parties are genuinely coming from the right place. Any parent knows that sometimes children need correcting or course correcting, and every child knows often ‘grown ups’ do too!
This isn’t about political correctness — it’s about honesty.
Speaking and listening with presence, just like animals do.
Truth matters more than comfort.
Managing ego. Without manipulation. Without denial.
With love, clarity, and truth.
That means sometimes people will be triggered. And that’s OK. Being triggered is part of healing. It’s a sign something is ready to be looked at — and skipping over it helps no one.
Anyone who has delved into animal communication knows that animals communicate in a very pure way – not from ego, judgement, blame. They honestly say what they need to, without all the fluff. It reminds me of the joy of listening to how young children communicate honestly – they say what they see / feel without filters – never from a place of malice, just from their heart. We can all learn a lot from that. Honestly, heartfelt feedback is a gift, if we have anyone in our lives that can give this, then nurture that relationship!
Why This Work Is Different
I believe what I offer is quite unique — not because I claim to have all the answers, but because I’ve spent years learning to blend deep intuitive insight with grounded, practical knowledge.
I use my training, my science background, my holistic therapies and tools… but most of all, I use my ability to see and feel what animals need — and to help their humans create a plan to meet those needs.
That might look like helping someone prepare for a power cut in winter, so their older dog doesn’t freeze.
Or planning cooling strategies for a horse on a scorching summer day.
Or helping a stressed guardian finally understand the emotional burden their animal is carrying for them — and how to release it together.
It might be helping someone understand why their dog has chronic skin issues, or their horse is ‘grumpy’. Sometimes, in fact almost always, going back to good old common sense, understanding what the animals actually need to thrive not only can transform your animals health and happiness, but yours too. Our animals really do teach us what is important in life.
In today’s world, animals can’t make all those decisions for themselves anymore — so we need to step up and do it for them. And no one feels safe when the person looking after them isn’t seeing what they truly need. We all learned that the hard way during the Covid era, didn’t we?
This Work is For People Who Want Real, Lasting Change
Let me be clear:
I’m not for everyone.
If you want quick fixes, bandaids, or someone to tell you what you want to hear — I will not be your person.
If you’re ready to do the real work — I’m here to walk with you.
To help you ask better questions, challenge old beliefs, and find aligned support.
For you or your animals, with love and integrity.
It would be an honour to be part of your journey.
This work isn’t about ego. It’s about partnership. Observation. Openness. It’s about checking in, again and again, to see what’s actually working — and having the courage to course correct when it isn’t.
For Fellow Practitioners…
If you’re a holistic therapist, healer or wellness practitioner, and you’re tired of surface-level strategies and scattered marketing advice — I see you.
I’d love to help you grow your business in a way that’s deeply aligned with your values, your integrity, and your calling. The world needs more grounded, heart-led practitioners — and I believe we rise faster together.
I’ll be sharing more soon on how we can work together in this way — but if that already speaks to you, get in touch. Let’s build something meaningful.
This is why I do what I do.
Because the world as it is — isn’t working.
Not for the animals. Not for the planet. And not for us.
So why not try something new?
Why not lead with curiosity, compassion, and courage?
This is my passion.
What’s yours?
With love and truth,
Catherine x
